In the fall of 2016, L-K Industries expanded its production of Class I, Division 2 products. Please read below for a list of Class I, Division 2 products and information outlining why this classification is significant.

What is Class l, Division 2?

The Canadian Standards Association and Intertek define Class I, Division 2 as:

Class l: A location made hazardous by the presence of flammable gases or vapors that may be present in the air in quantities sufficient to produce an explosive or ignitable mixture (NEC 500).

Class l Groups:
  • Group A: Acetylene
  • Group B: Hydrogen
  • Group C: Ethylene
  • Group D: Propane and Methane (mining)

Division 2: A location where a classified hazard does not normally exist but is possible to appear under abnormal conditions.

Temperature Classifications:
  • T3A: Max Surface Temperature – 180°C (356°F)
  • T3C: Max Surface Temperature – 160°C (320°F)

ETL Listed Mark: The ETL (Electrical Testing Laboratories) Listed Mark is a widely-recognized proof that products have been independently tested and meet the applicable published standards (per Intertek).
